Tan SA – Contacts & Location
Description
Tan SA is a family business founded in 1984, but the family Romualdi has been in the watchmaking business for more than 50 years, starting in the 1950s. A dial factory was also added in the 1960s, then sold in the late 1980s. The business has always been based on the production of complete watches in Private Label, starting from the development, assembly of various mechanical movements, manual or automatic winding, on semi-automatic chains and gradually from the laying of dials and spheres, embedding, quality control, etc.
The advent of the quartz era led to the decision not to install assembly lines for this kind of movements, preferring to purchase them complete, directly from the various specialized manufacturers.
It was at that time, exactly in 1978, that the son, Enrico, having finished his studies in Chemistry, began working in the company. He directly followed and practiced all the steps inherent in the assembly of movements and watches. In order to perfect his knowledge of the technique of both mechanical and quartz watches, he spent a great deal of time at some of the factories of Eta, the most important Swiss movement manufacturer, thanks to whose support he was also able to benefit from a period of further training of about 3 months in New York. Enrico also spent a few weeks in Japan, having the opportunity to increase his training and broaden his knowledge at factories of Seiko.
In 1984 the family made the decision to move all activities to Switzerland, having among others the advantage of offering customers watches Swiss Made. The service was improved and strengthened in the face of increasing technical and aesthetic demands from customers.
