Spitex for City and Countryside has been providing out-of-hospital nursing services throughout Switzerland for more than 30 years. As the leading private organization in the branch, we place great value on the quality and professionalism of our services. In our regional and cantonal branches, our professionals ensure competence in interventions, interventions that are commensurate with the needs of our clients. The first priority, in this regard, is to maintain a high quality of life at home in one's own familiar environment.

Before each intervention, we discuss with the client or customer-if requested also with family members or the physician-the personalized Spitex services needed. As a client of a private Spitex, you will always be assisted by one of our staff members on whom you can rely, or, if appropriate, by a close-knit team.

Objective

Our most important goal is to make our private Spitex clients feel good at home. Therefore, in addition to ensuring the competence and experience of our staff, we attach great importance to a performance of the mandate geared to the needs of the individual client.

• His personal wishes are taken into consideration and, respectively, coordinated.
• The trained care assistants, certified nurses, and auxiliary staff for housework have the necessary expertise and experience for each service.
• Our trusted caregiver will always remain your point person.
• In the case of time-consuming care or assistance, two or more of our trusted employees will take care of you. You will always be assigned the same team of people.
• We offer interventions that are long-term or require our presence for several hours. Our professionals will assist you, if necessary, around the clock, on weekends and holidays.
• In all regions we collaborate with physicians, hospitals, independent nurses, the public Spitex, as well as with homes for the elderly and nursing homes, insurance companies and health insurance funds.

We can offer you care, assistance and help with household chores at the same time. Caregivers, experienced caregivers and aides for household chores are available for the following services at all times.

Our private Spitex has many years of experience and our care services subject to insurance reimbursement are recognized by the Health Insurance Funds. We bill for our services based on fixed rates, independent of the client's income and substance.

Medical support and care

Our care services in the area of medical support and care outside the hospital include specific case examination and related counseling, basic care, and specific nursing treatments. At-home care treatment enables the client, respectively, to stay at home in their familiar environment for as long as possible. In this way, then, individual habits and quality of life can be maintained.

Case-specific examination and counseling

After the assessment and related evaluation of the client's abilities and needs, we draw up an individualized treatment program. Together with the client, if necessary also with family members and the physician, we define the goals of care.

Specific nursing care

We implement care based on the doctor's instructions: we attend to wounds, prepare medications, administer infusions and injections.

Basic care

We help and assist the client in body care, the act of dressing and undressing, mobilization and assisted movement, correct posture, at mealtimes and other specific times.

Assistance and accompaniment

For the maintenance of the quality of life and individual habits of the people we care for, we take steps so that independence at home is preserved and encouraged. Together with the patient, if necessary also with family members and the doctor, we define the care plan, as well as the goals to be achieved.

Whether you suffer from a chronic illness, disability, or poor health resulting from age, or are in a state of convalescence, we define personalized care according to your individual needs. And we offer:

• Provisions for maintaining and encouraging health, as well as independence at home.
• Assistance to the elderly to lighten the burden of family members.
• Night vigil and overnight pick-up service from the patient.
• Companionship to the doctor, for a walk or shopping.
• Postpartum care and assistance.

The amount of time for care depends on the patient's wishes. We take on short interventions as well as individualized companionship services, daily interventions to lighten the load of family members, as well as night shifts.

Homework

For people in need of care and for the elderly

Our services in the area of housework can also be requested in combination with client care and assistance.

For families and working people

We also offer our intervention in household chores to families, people living alone, and working people.

Our domestic helpers take care of:

• Regularly take care of all chores, from cleaning to tidying up
• washing, ironing, mending
• doing grocery shopping and preparing meals

The amount of work and duration of intervention depends on your needs. We offer our support daily, weekly, fortnightly or as you wish.

Dementia Home Care

Competent care and assistance for people affected by dementia

With Dementia Home Care we have been supplementing our service offerings appropriately for a few years now. We employ competent caregivers and experienced caregivers trained specifically for people with dementia/Alzheimer's disease.

What is dementia?

According to the Alzheimer's Association Switzerland, the term "dementia" defines a condition of the brain in which several abilities are disturbed compared to the past. In all forms of dementia, memory is impaired. In addition, at least one other brain area is involved, such as language, action, recognition of people or objects as well as planning and organization of daily activities.

Two main forms of dementia can be distinguished: in more than 60% of cases we speak of Alzheimer's disease (neurodegenerative disease), named after the German psychiatrist and neuropathologist Alois Alzheimer. About 15-20% of cases can be traced to vascular dementia (brought about by altered blood circulation). The other forms of dementia can be traced to different causes.

Dementia Home Care

For disoriented people, it is especially important to be cared for, followed and accompanied with empathy. Their usual environment and personal context can contribute to the positive course of the disease process. Our care and support staff are specifically trained to work with people with dementia in a professional and understanding manner. By planning care and assistance we provide relief to the relatives, the client or client, the family as needed, and the physician.

Our services

• We offer a 360-degree service ranging from specialized counseling and guidelines for family members to assisting and accompanying the disoriented person, from overnight care to comprehensive care.
• We take individual needs and habits into account when planning interventions.
• We place extreme importance on available resources. Our staff members with special training in care and assistance involve the person with dementia in daily activities, for example, shopping or meal preparation.
• Care and assistance is always the responsibility of the employee or team who is familiar with the person/client. In this way, the persons concerned feel safe and in good hands.

We hold cantonal Spitex licenses. We regulate treatment services throughout Switzerland under the KVG, directly with health insurance companies. The possible assumption of costs of other services from supplementary insurances has to be clarified individually on a case-by-case basis

Fall prevention

Studies confirm the increased risk of falling from the age of 60 years. A fall, for example, in the case of osteoporosis, can result in radical changes in a person's life. Thanks to the care and prevention activities by our staff members, who are sensitized to this issue and in close contact with the users, you can maintain your autonomy in the family environment for as long as possible and thus also your quality of life.

Evaluate, prevent, accompany

For us, fall prevention, for the benefit of our own and our clients, is a central issue. For example, a weekly accompanied walk can convey confidence and at the same time is a good workout for your mental balance-a simple and effective measure to prevent falls.

Evaluate

Based on the needs assessment conducted by our certified nursing staff:

• your individual fall risk is noted (registration of physical illnesses, medication influence factors, etc.)

• your mobility and instability
is assessed
• your fall episodes are recorded and analyzed
• your possible fall risks in your home environment 
are assessed.
• your fall risk-carrying habits
are analyzed

Prevent

The assessment enables us to provide you with individual counseling on behavior, nutrition, medication and pain, as well as on furnishings, aids and their respective proper use. Together with you, the safest and correct practices and behaviors are agreed upon and defined.

Companying

We regularly monitor these measures and agree them with you. In this way, we can plan any additional activities that may be needed or undertake the practices and behaviors that will enable you to continue your usual way of life.

Our employees are regularly made aware of fall issues and kept up-to-date specifically with regard to fall prevention.
