Enter a search expression into the Search field, for example "Restaurant", and local.ch will provide you with a list of all restaurants in your vicinity. There is no need to enter a location.
The preconditions for a functional Local Search are as follows:
If you are outside Switzerland, it is possible that the Local Search is deactivated. Please read further under the question "Can I also search without Local Search?" to find out how you can nevertheless still use the local iPhone program.

The simplest method is to deactivate the Local Search, which can be carried out any Search and Result page. The switch is located under the Search box, or at the end of the Result list. After deactivating, you can formulate your search, for example, as follows: "Restaurant Basle" or "Fritz Meier Zurich".
⢠You can also search in a specific area with the Local Search activated by supplementing your search expression with "... in example location". For example: You are in Basle and would like to search for a restaurant in Zurich. Enter "Restaurant in Zurich" and tap on "Search" below on the right.

It could happen, for example, that there is no restaurant of your favourite type just around the corner. Unfortunately, there is not always enough geographical information for all the entries to enable us to display them in a Local Search. You can help us to improve this situation, however: To do this, please read the answer to "The entry is not displayed on the map, or is incorrectly displayed".
If local.ch cannot provide any appropriate hits for your search, local.ch includes the 1811 number for you. You can then simply tap on it and answer the question as to whether a connection should be made to 1811 with "yes" or "no". Please note the information displayed about the charges for this.
Tap on the entry in the Result List. You will then see the complete, detailed entry. Now tap on the address. The "Map" program will now be opened and the entry will be shown on the map.

local.ch uses the Map and Route Planner program that is already integrated into the iPhone. The Map and the Route Planner are displayed in different "Map" programs. Proceed as follows to return to the local.ch iPhone program:
The use of the local.ch iPhone program costs you nothing at all. Only the Internet connection fee has to be paid. The costs for this depend on your subscription and your provider. Please contact your provider if you have further questions regarding costs.
