Frequently Asked Questions - Map Positioning

I would like to add or change the position of my house on the map.

Is the position of your house not visible on the map? Is your house in the wrong place on the map? Then please contact us!
Please note: If you have seen a mistake on the map, for example a incorrectly written or missing street name or a missing building, then you can contact us via e-mail at this address info@local.ch with the subject "Feedback tot he Google Maps" and we will forward this to our partner Google.

This is how you inform us of your exact position on the map:

You have different options of informing local.ch of the correct position on the map:

1. Per post or
2. Via e-mail or
3. With the online Mapper Tool

1. Per post: Send local.ch a print out.

  1. Go to the detail page of your entry
    (for example local.ch detail page)
  2. Select the section of the map where the surrounding streets and houses are clearly visible. Use the zoom function at the top left of the map.
  3. Print out your entry with the local.ch map.
  4. Draw your correct position onto the map.
  5. Send the print-out with your contact details to the following address:

2. Per e-mail: Send local.ch your prepared map or your coordinates via e-mail

For local.ch to make the changes we need the following information:

  • The links to the entries on www.local.ch (detail page) or the screenshots of the entries.
  • A map with the drawn position (for example a screenshot from Paint or Photoshop). Or the coordinates in a CH-1903 Format.

3. Use the Mapper Tool.

  1. Go to www.mapper.ch and enter a title for your map (for example: "position change").
  2. Look for your address and go to "Satellite" view.
  3. Place your marker on the right position and select "Public URL" and "send".
  4. Give in your name and the e-mail address "COTGEO.Directories@directories.ch" and type your address and - if you have one - your e-mail address.
  5. Do not remove the URL which is already in the text field.
