I can't see my house on the map. (Outdated map data.)

The aerial image map data is one to ten years old depending on place and rural area. For the cities of Basel, Schaffhausen, St.Gallen, Lucerne, Fribourg, Lausanne, Geneva and Lugano the map data is from 2006 and 2007. The Zurich map data is from 2008. The street maps are updated throughout the year.

Why can I see an address in the result list but not on the map?

The address is not precise enough to be displayed on the map. For example the address 'Chalet Bellevue, Saas Fee' is not enough information. We need an exact street or house number and or precise location information to place an address on a map.
In the 'phone book' and 'yellow pages' Swisscom Directories have been validating street names since the beginning of 2008.

I would like to add or change the position of my house on the map.

Please note: If you have seen a mistake on the map, for example a incorrectly written or missing street name or a missing building, then you can contact us via e-mail at this address info@local.ch with the subject "Feedback to the Google Maps" and we will forward this to our partner Google.

My entry on local.ch is not correct. What can I do?

Local.ch displays the data for private and business entries from their partner company Swisscom Directories.
For changes to your address please contact Swisscom Directories AG on Tel: 0848 86 80 86 or online on www.directories.ch.
Tip: Below your entry in the grey box you will see an 'update entry' link. Click on this to edit your entry on the Swisscom Directories AG website.

How often are entries updated?

Local.ch receives new entries and changes to entries from Swisscom Directories every week.

When I print out an entry, the map shows a black square on the print-out.

If you use the link 'print entry' on the detail page and the map will be displayed correctly.

How can I find the location of the nearest hairdresser or restaurant?

Go to the phone book or the yellow pages tab and enter the address from which you would like to perform a near search. Click on the chosen entry. Next to the map click on 'Search in area' and type in the name of the chosen company or category. To use the nearseach functionality the entry has to be visible on the map. If the pin next to the entry is greyed out, then the near search cannot be used.

Can I place an add in Classifieds or the Car Market myself?

Yes. Go the tab homepages of the Classifieds and Car Market and in the colored area at the bottom you can see 'Create new listing'. Follow the process.

I would like to change something to my entry. How can I do that?

You have two options:
1. Click on the link in the e-mail which you have received to activate your listing. You can now change your listing.
2. If you have a username and password you can sign in under 'my account' > 'listings', select the listing and change it.

Can I add an event on local.ch myself?

Yes you can. Click on the tab 'Leisure' and in the colored area at the bottom click on 'Create new event'. Follow the process.

How can I advertise on local.ch?

What kind of advertising possibilities does local.ch offer?

There are two kinds of advertising possibilities on local.ch. Firstly the so-called 'content advertisements' and secondly context advertisements which appear in the context of a search query (category, place) and are therefore targeted.
