The Restaurant Altes Klösterli serves modern Swiss specialties in a cozy atmosphere and with a fantastic view of the Glattal. The terrace offers a view of the Semien Mountains of the zoo Zurich, where jeladas and other Ethiopian animals live, as well as the Lewa Savanna. The Restaurant Altes Klösterli has its own parking spaces directly in front of the house.

The current building is a combination of three separate ones, parts of which date back to the 13th century. It was once the hospice of the city of Zurich and was owned by the Predigerkloster monastery. During the Reformation (1519 to 1531) by Huldrych Zwingli, the monastic orders left Zurich and the monasteries became privately owned. From about 1530, the building was called ‘Gasthof zum Schermesser im Niederdorf’. In 1703 it received the designation ‘Gasthof zum Hirschen’. So guests have been staying with us since the 14th century, making the Hirschen one of the oldest hotels in Zurich.e are continuing this tradition with a great deal of passion, warmth and hospitality.

Ohne Reservierung bin ich persönlich ins Restaurant gegangen um für 2 Plätze per 17.00 Uhr von letzten Samstag anzufragen. Obwohl alles ausgebucht war, hat mir die Dame am Empfang einen Zweiertisch für die Zeitspanne von 17.00 Uhr bis 20.00 Uhr gefunden. Top. Das Essen und die Bedienung war Spitze. Ich war schon mehrmals bei Euch essen und habe das Gefühlt, die Qualität und der Service hat war immer sehr hoch. Gratuliere. Ich werde Sie gerne wieder besuchen und auch sehr gerne weiterempfehlen. Von der Terrasse aus geniesst man einen weiten und traumhaften Ausblick über Zürich und den Zürichsee. Es empfiehlt sich auf der schönen Terrasse zu essen. Der Service war sehr gut und zuvorkommend und das Essen war geschmacklich hervorragend uns sehr schön präsentiert. Die Preise sind Zürcher Standard. Wir kommen gerne wieder!
