to the Bern Rheumatism Center on Viktoriaplatz, the rheumatology group practice of Dr. Jürg Suter, Dr. Gion Caliezi, Dr. Barbara Meyer, and Dr. Florian Winkler.

Rheumatism (or rheumatism for short) is a collective term for a wide variety of diseases of the musculoskeletal system, muscles, tendons, joints, bones, or connective tissue. It is usually caused by aging or wear and tear, injuries, or inflammation. Rheumatology covers conditions such as osteoarthritis, autoimmune diseases, vascular inflammation (known as vasculitis), and osteoporosis.

At the Bern Rheumatology Center on Viktoriaplatz, the necessary investigations are carried out in a detailed patient consultation and physical examination in order to make a diagnosis and draw up a treatment plan. The practice has comprehensive, modern diagnostic and treatment facilities at its disposal, including X-ray, laboratory, ultrasound equipment, bone density measurement device (DXA), and infusion therapies. Infiltrations near the spine are also performed.

 

Complex and difficult clinical pictures are regularly discussed within the team.
