History

In 1919, Josef Ritter took over Malerei Lang and changed the name from Malerei Lang to Malerei Ritter. Malerei Ritter quickly made a name for itself in decorative painting and lettering.

From 1955 to 1961, Josef Ritter was president of the Master Painters' Association and also taught at the vocational school.

In 1964, his son Walter Ritter took over the management of the company and handed it over to his long-time employee Roger Amstein in 1997. Amstein modernized the business, transformed Walter Ritter Malerei into Atelier Ritter AG, and moved to Blattigstrasse in Obernau for space reasons.
