According to its statutes, the Pediatric Center aims to be a center of expertise in the field of pediatrics for the Mendrisiotto area. It intends to offer medical care to the pediatric population from birth through the entire developmental age, taking care of prevention and both acute and chronic care of patients who see the center's physicians.

In addition to basic pediatrics, we offer:

• Counseling on breastfeeding, feeding, sleep disorders, school-related problems, support for psychological disorders related to child development, comprehensive neurological examination (Psychologist Poretti Rustemi)

• Disease and injury prevention and we offer recommendations on basic vaccinations and immunizations for foreign travel

• Prevention and treatment of eating disorders with multispecialty approach within the MAGIC project (Dr. Cristina Massai)

• Counseling and therapy on child mental and physical development, comprehensive neurological counseling

• Allergy counseling: comprehensive diagnostic clarifications including food load testing, treatment of respiratory allergic forms (allergic rhinitis, asthma, etc.) Doc. med. Marcel Bergmann

• Sports medicine with sports medical examinations

• Psychiatric and psychological counseling and treatment of children and adolescents

• Counseling and treatment of eye diseases

• Counseling and treatment of pathologies of the osteo-skeletal system (orthopedic)

• Radiological and ultrasound consultation

• Homeopathic medicine and homotoxicology (Dr. Massai and Dr. Citterio)

• Ergotherapy treatment for both problems associated with developmental disorders, movement, and also hand surgery

• Osteopathic treatment

Emergency immediate assistance:

• Acute disorders: febrile state, states of dehydration

• Injuries with wounds, sprains, fractures, bruises and burns

• We offer sedation and analgesia with laughing gas

• Pediatric-specific nursing care

• We have modern equipment and facilities:

• Routine laboratory for hematology, chemistry and immunology

• Allergy and load testing

• Electrocardiography at rest and under stress

• Ecography with the advice of radiology specialist

The Center also collaborates (directly in the practice) with:

• Maternal and pediatric nurse consultants of the SACD

• Pedagogists from the Mendrisiotto and Lower Ceresio Parents Project Association present at the same time as the pediatric nurses (ICMP)

• Various specialists and therapists from the Region and Canton

• Regional Hospitals and Specialists in ENT-Dermatology, Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Orthopedics Pediatric Orthopedics, Rheumatology etc.
