Today, the forest is primarily seen as a place for recreation, health and leisure activities. We are all aware of its protective effects on soil, water, air and climate and its importance as a habitat for our forest animals.

The public tends to lose sight of the forest as a supplier of wood as a raw material. The prerequisites for these important forest services, forest care and management on the one hand and timber harvesting and utilization on the other, are often not sufficiently recognized and acknowledged. This is because the sustainability of the management and use of the wood growing in our forests, its sale and utilization is the basis of forestry as we operate it today.

Timber consumption secures the existence of our forests. So that future generations will also find a healthy, near-natural and species-rich forest as part of sustainable development.
