After 30 years of professional experience as a medical masseur and qualified physiotherapist and incessant further training in various areas of physiotherapy such as neurophysiology, manual therapy, orthopaedic medicine, sports physiotherapy and rehabilitation, you can see my unwavering thirst for knowledge. In 2012, I added a master's degree in complementary medicine and cultural sciences, which expanded my expertise in the fields of neural therapy, environmental and mitochondrial medicine, nutrition and phytotherapy.

In my self-employment as a therapist, I have combined the above-mentioned treatment methods for many years with great success.

In 1992, I started teaching as an assistant in the PNF department at VPT. From 1994, I taught PNF and medical training therapy independently as a lecturer. Other specialist areas were added over the years, such as manual therapy, orthopaedic medicine, electrotherapy, occupational health, orthopaedics and rheumatology.

Today, training young people is my top priority.

As a result, I have been able to pass on my knowledge at three different schools.

HWS Basel

Since 2017, I have been teaching the medical subjects for the fitness & movement trainer and  "Specialist in movement and health promotion" with a federal certificate at HWS in Basel.

During this time, I wrote my specialist books and the journal "Fitness Gym & Ernährung".

Benedict School St. Gallen

At the Benedict School, we train professional masseurs and medical masseurs with a federal certificate.

Within this training program, we are a team of instructors who accompany the students until the final examination. During this training, I teach anatomy, physiology, pathology, orthopaedics, BGM and electrotherapy.

At the sgmf, I teach BGM and electrotherapy. These modules are part of the training to become a medical masseur.

OdAmm

I have been an examiner at the OdAmm for several years. I was very happy to take on this role. It is a great pleasure and fun to see how much knowledge the candidates have acquired during the training period. The task and responsibility as a medical masseur towards patients should not be underestimated.

As a lecturer, it is very important to me that the medical masseurs we train have a chance on the market. It is also important to me that qualified therapists take and assess the examination.

The Helmut Bauer Academy offers further training for therapists who have completed their training. These include the NeuroOrthopaedics, Exercise Trainer, Nutrition Coach, PNF and Medical Training Therapy courses.
