Company history

Rescue Service Schwyz AG has its origins in 1965, the year in which the Eichhorn ambulance service was founded. Until 1992, everything ran under the care of Karl Eichhorn-Betschart Sr. until he died in 1992 at the age of 55. Eichhorn Transportdienste AG was then founded on January 1, 1993 and entrusted with the rescue service. They continued to run the rescue service steadily until the contract was terminated by the districts at the end of 2003.

Rescue Service Schwyz AG was formed on January 1, 2004 from a merger of the Eichhorn rescue service and the Schwyz hospital company. The aim is to provide emergency rescue services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in the districts of Schwyz (excluding Unteriberg, Oberiberg and Alpthal) and Gersau. Rettungsdienst Schwyz AG is also ready to provide neighborhood assistance at any time.

Emergencies

Emergencies are covered by two teams during the day (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.) and by one team the rest of the time. In the meantime, the second team can be called out at any time

Secondary area / substitute organization

The company MediTrans GmbH is responsible for the secondary area and as a replacement organization.
