Vision
Our framework conditions and our pedagogical work enable girls and young women to receive a holistic education on the basis of which they:
- expand their skills and strategies for action, are able to form positive relationships and
- to be able to determine their lives independently and responsibly .
Guiding principles
In order to realize this vision, we are guided by the approach of trauma pedagogy and create a safe place for girls and young women. We create reliable, assessable and increasingly manageable living space and everyday conditions that enable the girls and young women to build inner security and trust in the outside world and the people living in it.
The attitude we adopt towards both the girls and young women and our colleagues is characterized by the following guiding principles.
We trust people and have confidence in them. We help girls and young women to participate to the greatest extent possible in line with their level of development. With a professional understanding of participation, we lead young people out of feelings of powerlessness and support them in increasingly experiencing themselves as independent, competent and belonging. At the employee level, we work together at different levels of participation, depending on the situation.Reflection
We explain problematic behavioral patterns that stand in the way of the girls' and young women's development against the background of previous stresses and strains and help to resolve these together with them, thereby activating and expanding the young people's ability to develop. Among other things, we rely on benevolent discussion and reflection with the girls and young women and within the team.
Respect and appreciation
We promote a non-violent climate and are committed to respecting and appreciating the individuality of young people and our colleagues in every situation. In this way, we enable girls and young women to respect themselves and others and to experience themselves as valuable.
Our organization is clearly structured. We take a responsible approach to these structures, hierarchies and power relationships. We value a transparent and mutually binding approach to rules and agreements. In this way, we create a predictable living environment for the girls and young women and a supportive working environment for our colleagues.
Fun and joy
In order to strengthen the young people's resilience and our own resilience, we use opportunities for fun and joy. We promote experiences of enjoyment and joie de vivre.
