Esther Giger-Fuchs dreamed of independence from an early age—and in 2004, that dream became a reality. At the age of 24, the trained florist opened the Avelanche flower shop on the aptly named Blumenrainweg in Appenzell. Whereas Giger-Fuchs had always been bound to a certain style when working as an employee in other shops, she now enjoys complete creative freedom in her own business.

The proximity to the church and the car park contribute to the fact that the shop is popular with both locals from the region and tourists.
