History

The company Eisenhandlung zur Platte was founded in 1904. The extensive product range extended from screws to household items of all kinds. The agricultural sector was also included in a department.

In the following years, the range was gradually expanded.

Since 1987, the sales store has been located in the "Haasefabrik", which was acquired in 1942 and initially used as a warehouse. In 2002, the household business was discontinued.

Hans Knechtle was the 3rd generation to manage Knechtle Eisenwaren AG until December 31, 2012.

Since January 1, 2013, Daniel Wild has been the owner and managing director.
