Schaub AG Holzbau was founded in 1921 by Jakob Schaub under the name Mechanische Zimmerei und Schreinerei (Mechanical Carpentry and Joinery). The wood for the carpentry and joinery business was cut to size in the company's own sawmill.

In 1956, Jakob Schaub handed over the company to his four sons, who had all been working in the company for many years. After 22 years, the company was converted into a public limited company and was renamed Gebrüder Schaub.

In 1990, the building at the current location at Berstelstrasse 14 was constructed. Jakob, Wilhelm, and Alfred Schaub passed away while the new company building was still under construction.

In 2006, the company was renamed Schaub AG Zimmerei Schreiner and was managed by Jakob and Felix Schaub. Seven years later, Felix Schaub retired from the business. From that point on, Jakob Schaub and his son Marc Schaub managed the company.

In 2018, Marc Schaub took over complete management of the business and was appointed managing director. With Marc Schaub at the helm, the company is now in its fourth generation.

The team, led by Marc Schaub, consists of several carpenters, joiners, and apprentices.
