Leather tanner. Can this name be a guarantee of innovation and the art of keeping up with the times? It can. The power to constantly reinvent ourselves and thus keep moving forward has been a tradition with us since our founding. The company was founded in Zurich in 1861 and moved to Baden a year later. For a long time, it was active in the fabric trade. In 1978, the owners ventured into ready-to-wear clothing. Ledergerber was one of the first fashion retailers in Switzerland to focus its range on a clear style – and thus broke new ground.

Today, seven stores bear our name, and around 50 employees keep them running smoothly. The last change of ownership took place in 2000: Brigitte Knecht, who had already been working for the company for over ten years, has been the owner ever since and is at the helm. She shapes the philosophy and fashion sense of the company with great passion and commitment, without putting herself in the spotlight. She says: "Success cannot be attributed to individuals, it is a team effort." Our philosophy is as unique as our name.
