Suchthilfe Region Basel has been active in the areas of prevention, counseling, addiction treatment and harm reduction for over 20 years. It has been run as a non-profit, politically and denominationally neutral foundation since 2008 and is entered in the commercial register. Over 100 employees work as permanent staff or on an hourly wage in the various facilities of Addiction Aid Basel Region.

The services are financed through service contracts with the cantons of Basel-Stadt and Basel Landschaft, daily rates charged to health insurance companies, cantons and municipalities as well as remunerated orders from companies and institutions. In addition, donations ensure that important projects and investments can be realized.
