Exhibition and attractions
On the trail of nature: The Natural History Museum in Bern is one of Switzerland's most important natural history museums. Its historical exhibitions of native and exotic animals are unique in Europe and have established the museum's international reputation. More recently, Bern's oldest museum has made a name for itself with attractive themed exhibitions, such as "The End of the World – An End Without End." One of the most famous exhibits is Barry, the world-famous rescue dog, to whom the museum has dedicated an entire exhibition. The impressive giant crystals from Planggenstock are also unique. The NMBE is a family museum par excellence, with many exciting and educational offerings for families and children. Unconventional cultural events under the title "Help, it's alive!" are attractions for young and old alike, such as the "Bar of Dead Animals."
Information on public tours, other events, and the varied children's and family program can be found at www.nmbe.ch.
