Job description
You make sure that cars look like new again after car body damage caused by accidents or hail. You are the dent doctor. You are the central figure in the planning and implementation of a repair strategy, taking the customer's wishes into account. You restore out-of-shape parts to their original condition. You will replace car body parts that cannot be repaired with new ones and fit them precisely.
Requirements
Skilled craftsmanship, good technical understanding, a sense of form, spatial awareness, strong academic skills in mathematics and geometry, precise working methods, independence, reliability, the ability to work in a team and a sense of responsibility.
Pre-education
Completed secondary level 1, at least intermediate level
Taster apprenticeship with aptitude test
Training period
4 years
You will have mastered the working techniques used to shape steel and aluminum sheets. You also know how to work with modern materials such as plastics, carbon, etc.
Vehicle electrics/electronics play a central role in your day-to-day work.

Professional description
You manufacture a wide variety of superstructures according to a plan. This transforms a bare chassis into a fire engine, a semi-trailer truck, a crane vehicle or a coach. You are the type for the individual. Every customer request and therefore every new build is different. You make special bodies and trailers for people, commercial and special vehicles. You convert them, fit accessories and carry out repair and maintenance work.
Requirements
Excellent manual dexterity, spatial awareness, good technical understanding, a sense of form, academic strength in mathematics, geometry and technical drawing, precise working methods, good constitution, independence, reliability, Ability to work in a team

You will master the basic techniques of metal and plastics processing. This includes the forming of steel and aluminum sheets/profiles, joining techniques, screwing, welding and gluing. Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics is also required.
