The company fussundschuh AG employs 35 people in Biel. Karim and Gesiena Halef started out in 1996. The master orthopaedic shoemaker chaired the professional association for five years and is a member of the examination board for orthopaedic shoemakers.

In 2019, the branch Orthofeet was opened in Delémont to serve patients from the Jura region more closely.
