In the summer of 2006, SWM Metallbautechnik began developing the "transparent ei30" fire-rated sliding door. The drive technology for the fire protection system comes from Gilgen Doors. The first fire protection doors tested in accordance with EN 1363-1 and 1634-1 were installed in the WESTside shopping center in 2008; they have proven to be stable and reliable.
Our EI30 and EI60 butt joint glazing offers maximum transparency. The butt joints are 4 mm wide and neatly finished with black silicone. The glass is ground and polished at the edges and has a fine bevel. The entire glazing is without any enameling or other restrictions – simply transparent. Thanks to the high glass quality, the glass remains dimensionally stable and shows hardly any clouding over the long term. The special glass structure can easily withstand a fall protection load of 1 kN.
