A place of peace and silence

First among the Capuchin friaries in Switzerland, the Bigorio friary was founded in 1535. In the 1960s a new direction was given to the activities of the convent with the intention of making it an open center in the Franciscan spirit of hospitality.

Surrounded by chestnut woods, on a terrace located at 728 m above sea level, in the silence and in its natural setting, groups find an ideal environment for carrying out their activities: seminars, training courses, study days. At guests' disposal: the ancient monks' cells for overnight stays, the chapel, church, museum, cloister and an unparalleled garden. It is also possible to conduct multi-day seminars with full board.

Since 2023 the convent has also been open as a B&B, where the guest can find an essential and, at the same time warm environment, enjoying the comfort of a nice hotel room.
