Description
China Medtao
TCM and acupuncture in Brig, Spiez
We are a practice for Traditional Chinese Medicine, TCM in Brig and Spiez. Our TCM doctor is originally from China. She studied for 5 years at the TCM University in Henan and has 23 years of professional experience in her field: acupuncture, massage, cupping and phytotherapy. She worked for a long time in a Chinese hospital and then in an English medical practice. She has now founded China Medtao here in Switzerland. Traditional Chinese medicine is used very successfully for all kinds of ailments, both physical and psychological. Her primary goal is to help people achieve inner and energetic balance, thereby activating the body's own healing powers.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture uses needles to influence the flow of Qi. The defined acupuncture points, which according to TCM theory are located on 12 meridians (energy pathways), are pricked and stimulated with fine needles in a differentiated manner in order to treat the complaints. In 1980, the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended acupuncture for 43 different diseases.
The Tuina massageTuina massage uses more than 20 different techniques, e.g. pushing, prodding, pressing and pinching. The therapist works directly on certain acupuncture points with their hands and elbows. The resulting stimulation of blood circulation in the body has a beneficial effect on pain and tension. Certain Tuina massage techniques are comparable to the manipulations used in chiropractic.
Cupping
Cupping involves creating a negative pressure in so-called cupping glasses. These cupping glasses are placed directly on the skin with the idea of using the negative pressure to achieve the elimination of harmful substances through the skin.
Moxibustion
Moxibustion refers to the process of additional heating of dried, fine mugwort fibers (moxa) burned onto or over specific therapy points located on the meridians. Blocked energies are released and can flow again. At the same time, blood circulation is stimulated. The procedure generates a pleasant warmth in certain areas of the body.
PhytotherapyHerbal medicine plays an important role in traditional Chinese medicine, with over 13,000 documented medicinal plants. In Switzerland, 150 to 250 plants and plant parts are used as medicines in Chinese phytotherapy. Thanks to the Swiss company complemedis, these herbal medicines can be obtained in Switzerland in tested and high quality.
