Timber construction / carpentry

People have been carpentering for thousands of years. We continue this craft with new technologies. Proven traditional craftsmanship, supported by state-of-the-art technology, is essential wherever wood plays a supporting role.

We manufacture roof trusses and timber constructions of all kinds for you. Our work also includes the construction of shelters/carports, entrance canopies and balconies. We also have the know-how for agricultural and industrial buildings. We provide expert solutions for both demanding and simple roof constructions. The various construction tasks are planned and executed down to the last detail with the help of modern CAD systems.

We also clad walls and ceilings with various types of paneling and manufacture straight and curved staircases in various types of wood. We also install skylights. We not only work on new builds and conversions, we also carry out repairs.

Roofing

The pitched roof is still the most common type of roof today and offers optimum protection, security and comfort. Whether tiles, fiber cement (Eternit) or sheet metal - with a wide range of variations and materials, we offer an optimal solution tailored to your needs. By installing skylights or roof superstructures in the form of hatches, ox-eyes, etc., a living space can be further embellished or a roof landscape made even more interesting. Whether ventilated and made of wood, clinker brick or with thermal insulation: the façade not only determines the appearance, but is also closely linked to the entire construction and the energy balance of a building.

Wood, metal, glass, plastic  etc.
Wood is not only being used more and more in constructions and as an energy supplier (again), but also for façades. The good properties of the natural material may contribute to this: wood insulates and protects, is ecological and natural and, last but not least, very easy to work with. Curtain-type, rear-ventilated façades with battens on the masonry - often filled with thermal insulation - to which the outer wooden battens, boards or shingles are attached are common. The wood can be treated with glaze, varnish or oil paint. If the builder wants to do without treatment, weather-resistant wood must be used, for example larch. With untreated wood, changes to the surface due to external influences are not exactly predictable.

Elementary construction

Timber houses in prefabricated construction are ecological, individual, flexible and quick to build. Bosshard Söhne AG completely erects a timber house within just a few days. This is only possible because the house parts are precisely pre-produced in our modern carpentry workshop. We build walls, ceilings, floors and roofs with CAD-supported planning. Everything fits together perfectly and only needs to be assembled on the building site. It doesn't always have to be a complete house. We also prefabricate individual roof trusses in our workshop. From the visible interior cladding to the tile battens, the finished element is assembled on site. Extensions and superstructures can also be prefabricated in element construction, also known as timber frame construction.

We keep pace with the ongoing development of various materials and are always up to date.

Interior fittings

Interior fittings make living trendy, cozy, homely, modern or simply relaxing. Whether it's cladding work for new buildings or redesigns for conversions. Bosshard Söhne AG can advise you competently and professionally in all areas.

Steko wooden house system

STEKO is a modular system of the latest technology and construction that enables sustainable building while meeting the highest requirements in terms of stability, durability, comfort and design freedom. STEKO is a building system that opens up completely new dimensions for builders, planners and contractors. Never before has it been so easy to build rock-solid, healthy and ecologically valuable houses.

The Steko timber construction system is based on a few basic elements that can be put together quickly and easily. The core element is the handy basic module weighing approx. 6.5 kg with a length of 640 mm and a height of 320 or 240 mm. The width of all components is 160 mm. In addition to the 4-part module, there are also 3-, 2- and 1-part modules.

A sill is used as the bottom end, and an 8 cm high single truss is used as the top end. The system is complete with the soffit boards. With these few parts, all load-bearing or non-load-bearing interior and exterior walls of a house can be built.

Varied design options with different wood species (maple, oak, birch, beech, cherry, ash, ...) and laying patterns (ship's floor, English, herringbone, woven pattern, ...) are guaranteed to meet your personal wishes. The surface can be treated individually, whether with oil or a seal. Let us advise you. Stairs

Climb up! Nothing could be easier! Stairs of all kinds allow you to take this step with ease. With our many years of experience, we will be happy to help you find the ideal staircase for your home/property. A wooden staircase is not only a beautiful element for the eye but also easy to maintain and resilient.

Straight or curved, we can offer you all possible shapes and types. It doesn't necessarily have to be just wood. We are open to a wide variety of materials.

Sawmill

We process local round timber into boards, beams and slats. We also saw your tree trunks into boards and beams. Most of the wood cut in the sawmill is further processed in the joinery and carpentry workshop. Some of the roof battens and double battens are sold on or installed on roofs by our roofers themselves. Our horizontal log band saw is specially designed for the customer timber sector. Are you looking for a way to turn your walnut tree in the garden into a dining table? Then your path leads through our sawmill.

Roof maintenance

The roof is one of the most heavily stressed components of a building. As it is not so much in the direct field of vision of the observer, it is always mistakenly neglected in terms of maintenance and care. Every material, including roofing and waterproofing materials, is subject to a natural ageing process. Roof surfaces are particularly exposed to the weather.
