Liability law

Liability law deals with the question of whether or not someone who causes damage to another person is liable. The injuring party can be a private individual, the state or a company. Questions of liability law arise, for example in the following cases:

• You were the victim of a traffic accident

• You were harmed as a patient during a medical procedure or treatment

• You were the victim of an accident at your workplace, because your employer breached its duty of care

• You were injured by a defective product

In such and similar cases, we offer out-of-court advice to insurance companies and representation in court to enforce your claims for damages and compensation.

Social insurance law

Social insurance law covers all branches of the Swiss social insurance system. Specifically, these are:

• Old-age and survivors' insurance (AHV)

• Invalidity insurance (IV)

• Supplementary and supplementary benefits (EL or ZL)

Social security law covers all branches of the Swiss social insurance system. ZL)

• Occupational benefits and pension funds (PK)

Private insurance law involves disputes with insurance companies that you have taken out yourself and are now refusing to pay benefits or asserting claims against you, for example. This usually involves:

• Life insurance 

Many problems also arise with social or liability insurers. In such complex legal cases, you benefit from our specialist knowledge and many years of experience.

Family law

Family law governs the legal relationships between private individuals who are related to one another.
This involves, for example:

• Divorce

• Marital protection and separation

• Child protection

• Adult protection

If a spouse wants to separate or divorce, various questions need to be clarified in this context: Who stays in the home and who has to move out? Who will the children live with? What about visiting rights? Does one party have to pay maintenance to the other? How much is this maintenance in detail? Are there any assets that need to be shared?

We can advise you on these and similar questions and represent your interests in court.

Rental law

Your landlord has terminated your rental agreement or refuses to adjust your rent to the changed reference interest rate, you disagree with the service charge statement or with the final statement after you have moved out...we advise and represent you in such and similar problems vis-à-vis your landlord and before Swiss arbitration authorities and courts.

Costs

• Good to know that in the event of a liability claim, legal fees are generally part of the damage and are therefore to be borne by the liable party or their insurance company and not by the injured party.

• Good to know that many health insurance policies include supplementary insurance that covers legal protection in health matters.

• Good to know that in court proceedings, legal fees and court costs are covered by the court if one party to the proceedings does not have enough money to pay them.

We always clarify the costs at the beginning of the mandate. We always check whether costs can be covered by third parties (legal expenses insurance, professional associations, health insurance companies, etc.)
