The bookstore on Kronenplatz has a long tradition and is well established not only in the city but also in the surrounding Emmental region. The former owners, the Langlois family, were originally also publishers and published, among other things, "Bauernspiegel," one of Gotthelf's first works.

Today, the bookstore presents itself as a lively cultural venue. Here, readers will find a diverse and always up-to-date selection. Since the merger with the Volare bookstore, a small, well-maintained Christian section has also been added.

Crime novels occupy a special place. The bookstore on Kronenplatz sees itself as a partner of the internationally renowned Burgdorf Crime Days and is involved in planning the program. It ensures that crime fans from near and far will always find new murderous material in the peaceful old town of Burgdorf.
