Fondazione AVAD Anziani Vallemaggia e Aiuto Domiciliare

With January 1, 2024, the Fondazione Anziani Vallemaggia e Aiuto Domiciliare was born. A legal entity created through the merger of the former Associazione Valmaggese Casa Anziani, Invalidi Adulti e Aiuto Domiciliare (an entity that managed the activities within the Institute) and the Fondazione Vallemaggia (an entity that owned the Residenza alle Betulle Institute).

Previously, the Associazione Valmaggese Casa Anziani, Invalidi Adulti e Aiuto Domiciliare was created on January 1, 2003, the date on which the Institute was no longer part of the Cantonal Hospital Authority. It took over entirely the management of the Cevio Health Institute including also the Someo Senior Home and the Home Care and Nursing Service for Vallemaggia. Previously AVAD, since 1986, already managed the Home Help Service in Vallemaggia, the elderly home in Someo and the elderly home ward within the Cevio Hospital.

The AVAD Foundation is headed by a Foundation Board consisting of 7 members and 1 appointed every four years by the State Council.
