  Limescale

  Limescale is a component of our drinking water. It builds up on the heating rods in the boiler and impairs the boiler's function.

  For hygiene reasons, the Swiss Gas and Water Association recommends a boiler service every 2 to 5 years:

• Limescale insulates the heating elements: 1mm limescale layer = 7% more electricity consumption; 1cm limescale = 50% more electricity consumption.
• Anode can be checked or replaced. It reduces limescale deposits.
• Gaskets can be replaced.
