Description
Portrait
The new mixed commune of Haute-Ajoie comprises the villages of Chevenez, Damvant, Réclère, Roche d'Or and Rocourt.
As these villages are located in Haute-Ajoie, it's only natural that the new commune should be called "Commune de Haute-Ajoie".
The commune of Haute-Ajoie has retained a typical Ajoie character, and agriculture is well represented. Industry is well represented by Les Ateliers Busch SA - Pompes à vide, located in Chevenez, which provides jobs for the entire Ajoie region and beyond. There are also shops, small workshops, craftsmen, tourist facilities and artists. The community life is rich in activities. All these elements combine to make the commune an outstanding place to live.

Economic promotion
The Haute-Ajoie commune's business park is located in Chevenez, on the edge of the Porrentruy - Montbéliard cantonal road. It is 2 minutes from the motorway link giving direct access to the Transjurane (A16), 5 minutes from the French border, 15 minutes from the Mulhouse - Belfort - Lyon freeway, 20 minutes from Delémont, capital of the Republic and Canton of Jura.
The zone covers an area of 66,000 m2.
The surfaces are reserved for the construction of industrial buildings or craft businesses. The sale price has not yet been fixed. It is determined contractually on the basis of the company's economic contribution to the region and development possibilities.
The commune of Haute-Ajoie, its authorities and administration, can contribute:
- Support with authorization procedures;
- Regular support with the region's economic and political circles;
- Tax planning opportunities and collaboration with the Economic Development Office of the Republic and Canton of Jura.
Saint-Martin - St-Martin
Celebrated on the second Sunday after All Saints' Day, around mid-November, this tradition of the table goes way back.
This tradition, perpetuated over the centuries, is a pretext for the preparation of a gargantuan menu.
It's a feast that celebrates the end of work in the fields, and its many dishes are essentially pig-based.
Hence the pantagruelian menu of Saint-Martin (St-Martin). It features the following dishes:
- bouillon
- frozen
- cream pudding
- grillades, atriaux and rôti
- choucroute garnie
- crème brûlée
- totché (cream cake)
- chtriflattes
