The Catholic parish of Chur comprises the Roman Catholic residents of the city of Chur and the municipalities of Tschiertschen-Praden, Haldenstein, and part of the municipality of Churwalden (Passugg). The parish is divided into three parishes:

Cathedral Parish, Redeemer Parish, and Holy Cross Parish.

From history

After the Reformation (the city became Protestant, while the court and cathedral remained Catholic), Catholics were served by the cathedral, which then became the Catholic parish church for the entire city in the 17th century.

The sharp increase in the number of Catholics led to considerations of establishing a Catholic parish at the beginning of the 20th century. On March 20, 1921, over 200 Catholics gathered and voted in favor of its creation. With the election of the first parish council on July 12, 1921, the foundation was then practically complete. In 1935, the Church of the Redeemer was consecrated. The parish vicariate, which was dependent on the cathedral, became an independent parish in 1985 (?). With the construction of the Holy Cross Church at the end of the 1960s, the parish of the same name was founded in 1985 (?).

The Titthof parish hall was consecrated on December 11, 1982, for the entire parish.
