Radio and Television of Romanche Switzerland
Radiotelevisiun Svizra Rumantscha (RTR) offers a Romansh radio program with current news and basic information, service and entertainment programs, as well as music from all genres and especially from the Graubünden music scene. Romansh has been recognized as the fourth national language since 1938 and as a semi-official language of the Swiss Confederation since 1996. Today, more than 100,000 people in Switzerland speak Romansh, and for 40,000 of them it is their mother tongue. However, not all of them live in the canton of Graubünden. Thanks to Radiotelevisiun Svizra Rumantscha (RTR), Romansh speakers throughout Switzerland are provided with news and current affairs through various programs. More at rtr.ch
Description in English:
Radio RTR broadcasts 24 hours a day in Romansh. Individual news programs are taken over by Radio SRF. Radio RTR's programming is aimed at a broad audience: entertainment programs, local and international news, sports reports, and a music program ranging from pop to rock and from folk music to evergreens. The great thing about it is that 50% of the music broadcast on Radio RTR is Swiss music and 30% of all the music broadcast is music from Graubünden.
RTR's television programs are broadcast on the SRF 1 television channel. If the TXT 777 page is activated, all programs can be viewed with German subtitles.
