The company was founded in 1982 under the name of pompes funèbres Alpha SA.

In 1987, Mr Jean-Paul Blanchet took over this company and a few years later, he was joined by his daughter and son-in-law Evelyne and Philippe Wiesmann-Blanchet.

The 3 partners, who had always wanted to maintain a family identity, chose in 1999 to rename the company in the names of the directors. Since then, the company's name has been pompes funèbres Blanchet et Wiesmann SA.

The previous name, pompes funèbres Blanchet et Wiesmann SA, was changed to pompes funèbres Blanchet et Wiesmann SA.

The former name, meanwhile, was retained to found the company Alpha Prévoyance Funéraire.

 Mr. Wiesmann has held a federal funeral director's certificate since 2000.
