The Bobillier family welcomes you to Damvant in a friendly atmosphere
Located a few hundred meters from the French border, in the center of the village of Damvant, the Restaurant de la Poste will soon celebrate its 200th anniversary. Formerly a postal relay station for stagecoaches traveling between Switzerland and France, this building was a landmark in the village for many years.
In 2001, the Bobillier family breathed new life into it by taking over the restaurant, grocery store, and gas station.
At the Restaurant de la Poste, you will find home-style cooking and a friendly atmosphere, with menus that change with the seasons and special events. At the helm of the kitchen, Frédéric Bobillier takes particular care to respect regional Ajoulot recipes and to make his establishment a place of relaxation.
Regional and home-style cuisine in Damvant
The Restaurant de la Poste specializes in fried carp, with an on-site fish tank to guarantee the freshness of the fish. The fried fish is served all you can eat, accompanied by salad, bread, and mayonnaise. The menu is adapted according to the seasons and events, with special menus for holidays such as New Year's Eve or the St. Martin's Day menu in November.
The restaurant is perfect for family or corporate celebrations, with tailor-made menus available on request. Opening hours are Thursday to Sunday lunchtime, offering a variety of dishes such as ham and chips, beef entrecôte with Café de Paris sauce, cheese fondue and much more. Ice cream, light snacks and a delicious cheesecake are also available.
The Restaurant de la Poste has a brasserie room and a dining room, with modular table arrangements to suit every occasion. In summer, guests can enjoy a large green space with a terrace, a children's playground, and a petanque court. Reservations are recommended to secure a table and order special dishes.
At the Poste gas station in Damvant, you can fill up your tank 24/7 using our automated pump. We are not only a gas station, but also a grocery store with a wide variety of essential items and Swiss and Jura specialties.
