In 1869, François Joseph Enard, a painter-portraitist, founded the company Photos Enard. He had been trained by Claude-Antoine Lumière, father of the famous Lumière brothers. He was succeeded by François Joseph Enard dit Jules, his son, then Georges and Maurice. Maurice had four children, including photographer François Enard, father of Laurent Enard. Laurent Enard was born on October 9, 1968 in the Swiss Jura, the fifth generation.
