Travel advice
With good travel preparation and a personalized first-aid kit, you can enjoy your vacation without any worries.
We are happy to assist you with our travel checklist, which contains lots of important and useful tips for planning your trip.
Disposal
Medications that have expired or are no longer needed can be disposed of free of charge at the pharmacy.
- The waste must be returned in well-sealed, if possible labeled, original containers.
Wound care
Proper wound care is essential to prevent infections and unsightly scars from cuts, abrasions, and burns. This protects against complications and leads to rapid and optimal wound healing.
Price: depending on the extent and size of the wound – approx. $10.
Laser treatment
We use lasers to accelerate the healing of cold sores or mouth ulcers. The treatment quickly reduces painful swelling and eliminates the unpleasant feeling of tightness under the skin of the lips.
The modern laser procedure is extremely gentle on the tissue and leaves no scars. Depending on the patient's sensitivity, the treatment is painless or causes very little pain.
Price: 45 CHF (5 sessions of approx. 2 minutes each)
Morning-after pill
The morning-after pill is a hormone preparation that is taken as emergency contraception after unprotected sexual intercourse or after the failure of another contraceptive method (e.g., a torn condom) to prevent an unwanted pregnancy.
Using the morning-after pill is not the same as having an abortion.
Health check
We measure our customers' blood pressure for CHF 5.00.
You will receive a blood pressure logbook in which you can record your readings. We will be happy to advise you on the purchase of a blood pressure monitor and instruct you on how to use it correctly.
It is also possible to measure your blood sugar. Blood sugar should be measured on an empty stomach. Price: $12
If you are diabetic and already familiar with measuring your blood sugar, we will be happy to check your blood sugar meter so that you can rely on your readings. Price: only the control solution for the corresponding device.

TBE vaccination
Ticks can transmit various diseases when they bite, some of which can have very serious consequences. These pathogens include Borrelia bacteria and TBE (tick-borne encephalitis) viruses. The latter is a form of meningitis associated with encephalitis. Borreliosis is transmitted by a bacterium and TBE by a virus. While borreliosis can be treated with antibiotics, there is no specific treatment for TBE. This can have serious consequences and in some cases even lead to death. The tick vaccination is the only protection against TBE. People who enjoy being outdoors or who work outdoors should therefore get vaccinated against TBE. According to the Federal Office of Public Health, over 400 cases of TBE were recorded in 2020, which is a record number and has led, among other things, to almost the whole of Switzerland now being classified as a TBE risk area by the FOPH.
Procedure: For full vaccination protection against TBE, you need three vaccinations:
- 1st vaccination: Preferably in winter, so that you are protected at the start of the tick season in early summer.
- 2nd vaccination: Approximately one month after the first vaccination. After the second vaccination, 87% protection is achieved.
- 3rd vaccination: Five to twelve months after the second vaccination. This achieves up to 99% protection, which lasts for ten years.
In addition to the normal vaccination schedule, there is also a rapid schedule at the beginning of the warm season. With this schedule, the second vaccination follows after just 14 days, and the third vaccination after 5 to 12 months.
Costs: Price of the vaccine + CHF 10 vaccination fee
Flu vaccination
Prevention is better than cure. With a flu vaccination, you not only protect yourself, but also your close relatives and other people around you. The flu vaccination is recommended annually from around mid-November for people at risk, as well as healthcare workers and people in close contact with people at risk.
Cost: Price of the vaccine + CHF 10 vaccination fee
Tetanus (DTP vaccination)
Tetanus is a life-threatening disease caused by bacteria. The bacteria enter the body through skin injuries and attack the central nervous system. The tetanus vaccination is recommended by the FOPH and offers almost 100% protection. In the event of acute injuries, you can come to the pharmacy at any time for the vaccination without an appointment.
To prevent tetanus, it is important to treat wounds properly and to get vaccinated against tetanus.
The tetanus vaccination teaches the body to defend itself against the bacteria by building up immunity.
When and how often should you get vaccinated?
The Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) recommends vaccination in childhood at 2, 4, and 12 months. Two further doses should be administered at the ages of 4 to 7 and 11 to 15. Booster vaccinations should then be given every 20 years until the age of 65. From the age of 65, the interval should be adjusted to 10 years.
Cost: Price of the vaccine + CHF 10 vaccination fee
