The nativity scene

The diorama brings the Christmas story to life. The scenery enchants with over 450 lovingly carved figures.
In times of multimedia, touchscreens and interactivity, it is relaxing to immerse yourself in another world. A nativity scene can be seen in the DIORAMA. The scenery shows over 450 figures on an area of 80 square meters and in front of a painted background of more than 30 meters. The combination of sculptural representation and painted background creates a perfect illusion of vastness. The depiction transports you to the heart of ancient Judea; not a fantasy landscape, but a true-to-life replica of the Bethlehem region.

Nostalgic, charming and extensive. The scenery begins with the field of shepherds, where the angels announce the birth of Christ. In the center, the manger with the Holy Family, the arrival of the Magi and their caravan. The story ends with the flight of the Holy Family to Egypt.

The Mineral Museum

The DIORAMA in Einsiedeln is home to the private collection of the doctor Dr. Adelrich Eberle from Einsiedeln. It consists of around 1,200 minerals and fossils and is the result of over 40 years of collecting. One third are Swiss minerals, the remaining two thirds come from all over the world.

The collection is organized according to the standard classification of minerals. Right at the entrance there are two display cases with special showpieces that impress with their shape and special color. One focus of our collection is quartz, which is represented by 150 specimens - some of which are grown on and enclosed in other minerals. Also eye-catching are 50 colorful agates and ornamental stones cut into spheres and eggs.
