The Christmas Nativity Scene

The diorama brings the Christmas story to life. The scene enchants visitors with over 450 lovingly carved figures.
In this age of multimedia, touchscreens, and interactivity, it is refreshing to immerse yourself in another world. The DIORAMA features a nativity scene. The scene shows over 450 figures on an area of 80 square meters and a painted background measuring more than 30 meters. The combination of three-dimensional figures and a painted background creates a perfect illusion of space. The display transports you to ancient Judea; not to a fantasy landscape, but to a lifelike replica of the Bethlehem area.

Nostalgic, charming, and extensive. The scene begins with the shepherds' field, where the angels announce the birth of Christ. In the center is the nativity scene with the Holy Family, the arrival of the Three Wise Men and their caravan. The story ends with the Holy Family's flight to Egypt.

 

The Mineral Museum

The DIORAMA in Einsiedeln houses the private collection of Dr. Adelrich Eberle, a physician from Einsiedeln. It consists of around 1,200 minerals and fossils and is the result of over 40 years of collecting. One third are Swiss minerals, the remaining two thirds come from all continents.

The collection is organized according to the standard classification of mineral classes. Right at the entrance, there are two display cases with special exhibits that impress with their shape and unique color. One focus of our collection is quartz, which is represented by 150 specimens, some of which have other minerals growing on them or enclosed within them. Also eye-catching are 50 colorful agates and decorative stones cut into spheres and eggs.
