Restorations
Thanks to our trained specialists and many years of experience, we can also carry out complex restorations. But even if you don't own an entire church tower, we can make your old treasures shine again.
The following are some examples of work we have already carried out:
- Restoration of sacred wooden and plaster statues
- Renovation of stucco

- Gilding
- Furniture
- Restoration of wall paintings
- Restoring frescoes
- Retaining tempera paintings
- Repairing imitation wood and marble
- Stucco work (mold making, application stucco, etc.)
- Conservation of paintings
Artistic wrought iron
Ferrous metals also need care. If this is neglected, the objects will eventually become unsightly and start to rust. To prevent this, the iron must not only be forged, but also painted from time to time
.Gilding
Gilding objects is a technique that is almost as old as mankind itself. A gold leaf, beaten flat to a few thousandths of a millimeter, is applied to the surface to be refined using brushes. This requires a steady hand to do justice to the precious raw material.
Church figuresRepair work on a Corpus Christi sparked Bruno Krüttli's interest in the preservation of art-historical objects at a young age.
Bruno Krüttli completed additional training at the "European Centre of Venice for the Conservation Professions", set up by a foundation established by the Council of Europe, the European Community, the European Parliament, UNESCO and national associations and ministries, specializing in traditional restoration techniques, modern construction techniques and the application of traditional techniques for regular maintenance and sustainable conservation.
Thanks to the craftsmanship he learned there and the continuous further training at SMGV (Swiss Painters and Plasterers Association) courses, Bruno Krüttli has been able to build up a wealth of knowledge in the field of restoration
The figure of St. John, who also happens to be the patron saint of painters, had been badly damaged by the many years in the attic of the rectory
In the course of his diploma thesis to become a federally certified master painter, Bruno Krüttli spent countless hours professionally restoring St. John and has now returned it to its former glory.
There is even a little story about the figure. An interesting article about it appeared in the Aaragauer Zeitung on 13.05.2014 with the title "The missing statue from Erlinsbach is suddenly back".
You can read the article on the online portal of the Aargauer Zeitung:

Mould remediation
Do you live with mold?
Around 25% of all homes are affected by moisture problems that can lead to mold. Causes can be: Building defects, flooding, pipe leaks, tighter building envelopes, incorrect ventilation, etc.
Mould fungi use spores or conidia to multiply. These are stirred up at the slightest breeze and float around in the room air and can cause various respiratory diseases, headaches, etc. when inhaled.

Stucco work
Stucco (from the Italian stucco) refers to the sculptural molding of mortar of all kinds, generally on plastered walls, vaults and ceilings. Stucco has been an important technique for the design of interiors and facades since ancient times. One particular stucco technique is sgraffito.
The term "stucco" covers all work with mortar, from a simple façade design with cornices to large-scale, sculptural wall and ceiling designs with opulent, sculptural forms of the Baroque and Rococo periods.
Stucco is one of Bruno Krüttli's "favorite children". He not only restores it expertly, but also creates new stucco elements with a sense of form. In doing so, he benefits from his broad knowledge of architectural styles and art history. The new stucco profiles are "drawn" by hand in the old-fashioned way. The customer is welcome to contribute their design wishes if required. This creates personal and unique works of art that give your home that certain something and will delight you for many years to come.
GildingGilding has fascinated mankind since ancient times. Gilding refers to the plating of metallic and non-metallic objects with gold, gold alloys and other decorative metal layers.
The traditional craft of gilding consists of applying leaf metals to workpieces, in contrast to coating them with metallic effect pigment (shell gold, "gold bronze"), which is part of the painter's craft.
Gold not only has a noble appearance, but is also one of the most corrosion-resistant metals. In its pure form, it is poorly suited for components and everyday objects because it is rare, expensive and has low strength. In most cases, a gold alloy suitable for the respective purpose is chosen as the coating material. The gold alloys differ in color: red gold, yellow gold, white gold and rose gold.
Historically, the most important functions of gold layers and coatings are:- Decorative appearance
- Valuable and prestigious appearance
- Importance for ritual acts and religion
- Corrosion resistance

History
The history of the Krüttli painting business began in 1955, when Pius Krüttli, the father of the current owner Bruno Krüttli, decided to set up his own business and became self-employed. With the help of his wife Madeleine, who provided the necessary overview in the office, he ran his business successfully and was able to build up a loyal clientele with high-quality work over four decades.
His son Bruno later followed in his father's footsteps and also trained as a painter. After completing his apprenticeship and gaining several years of professional experience, he went on to complete his master craftsman training and was awarded a federal diploma as a master painter in 1996. He was then drawn to further afield. At the European Center for Craftsmen in Monument Conservation in Venice, he was given an in-depth insight into the art of the old masters such as Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and others. Bruno Krüttli learned various restoration techniques, gilding, stucco veneziano, marbling, wood imitation and illusion painting and much more. His enthusiasm for the art of craftsmanship gripped him back then and has never let go to this day.In 1996, Pius Krüttli confidently handed over the reins of his business to his son Bruno.Since then, he has continued to run the business with great enthusiasm and commitment, also with the support of his wife Maja in the administrative area.
In addition to his role as operations manager, Bruno Krüttli is also heavily involved in promoting young talent in the Painters' Guild. As an apprentice trainer in his own company, but also at the trade school, where he teaches introductory courses for the Aargau Painters' and Plasterers' Association, as an expert in the final apprenticeship examinations and apprentice competitions and at a national level as an expert in the master craftsman examinations and as a member of the QSK quality assurance commission.ReferencesWe are proud of our long-standing regular customers, but are also delighted to receive every first-time order.
