Berni Davatz AG

Twenty years ago, on April 1, 1982, our company was founded by Berni in Fanas. Initially a one-man operation, with the help of his wife Elsbeth and then various temporary workers, the company made it through its first year.
In March 1983, the first employee was hired, initially only until the fall, but he is still with us today! Thanks to the good order situation and the wide range of activities, temporary helpers from the region could be employed again and again.

When the space in Fanas became too small, we decided in 1986 to expand the workshop with a new building or extension. Thus, the small 36 m² "shack" became a 170 m² workshop, which we were able to move into the following summer. But as is often the case, there is never enough space, and in 1991 a warehouse was rented in Schiers, on Sagastägweg. This is now also too small, so we have our plumbing branch and our roofing warehouse at the same location, in the former workshop of Chr. Willi.

Markus also joined the company in 1998. After completing his apprenticeship as a plumber and sanitary installer, he spent his apprenticeship and traveling years in Chur and Bern. After attending the master plumber school at the training workshops in Bern and passing the master plumber exam, he is now trying to bring the latest knowledge and techniques to the company.

As the trades of tinsmith and roofer are becoming increasingly intertwined and we were frequently asked about roofing, we decided to start offering roofing services ourselves. In spring 2001, we hired an additional roofer. Since then, we have been able to offer a complete roofing service from a single source, which is certainly an important factor for any builder.
