Since its inception in 1948, Switzerland's most important social welfare program has evolved into a modern social insurance system. Today, the social security network consists of ten insurance branches. AHV and IV form the fundamental first pillar.
Our compensation office is entrusted with tasks in nine of the ten Swiss social insurance branches. As a public organization, we ensure that the entire population has access to basic social security benefits. The great socio-political and economic significance of social security systems motivates and obliges the compensation office to conduct its business in a modern, efficient, and transparent manner.
The AHV and other social security institutions are adaptable and will continue to adapt to the economic opportunities and social needs of our country in the future. As a compensation office, we will support and help shape this development in a responsible manner.
