AROMATHERAPY WITH ELIXAN OILS

Essential oils contain the essence, power and energy of a plant in concentrated form. This is why their effect is so far-reaching.

In many cases, the effect of the sun (heat) is enough to release a plant's essential oil, but some require mechanical assistance. Essential oils are not fatty oils like salad oils. This is why lavender oil can also be applied to burns, for example, as it does not form a thick film but evaporates immediately. Some absolues are viscous and therefore difficult to drip. Controlled heating helps to counteract this. Compared to essential oils, synthetic oils lack vibrancy and depth. Essential oils should be protected from light, air and temperature fluctuations so that they remain of high quality for a long time.

Depending on the plant, different parts of the plant are used. Even today, extraction still requires a great deal of time and effort. Most oils are obtained by steam distillation. The resulting "waste product", the hydrolate, can also be used for aromatherapy and aroma care.
Aromatherapy is always based on the whole person, as it is often the soul that calls for help with physical complaints.

Essential oils are absorbed by the body through the skin. This is how they affect the entire organism. The second route of essential oils is via the sense of smell, directly to the brain. This is where our feelings and sensations of pain are controlled.

Color scheme

Elixan essential oils are divided into three colors:

Yellow: Top note oils (stimulating)

Red: Middle note oils (balancing)

Green: Foot note oils (relaxing, grounding)

When blending, it is recommended to use all three color components in each case. For example, a blend with orange (yellow), lavender (red) and sandalwood (green). Such blends, in which all three colors are represented, have a constant connection and complement each other perfectly to achieve the best possible effect.

How do fragrances affect us?
