My name is Astrid Dreier, born in 1968, married and mother of two grown-up sons.

In April 2004, I started training as a nail beautician alongside my office job and at the same time completed an internship with an experienced nail stylist. It was a tough time with lots of ups and downs, but my determination and ambition paid off. In January 2005, I opened my own nail salon in Zunzgen BL. Thanks to great success and satisfied customers, I was able to move my business to larger, more modern premises in Gelterkinden BL in April 2013.

I love the creativity and experimenting with colors that I can live out with every customer. This fills me with great satisfaction and motivation.

In order to keep up to date with the latest trends and constantly changing techniques, I always attend various courses and trade fairs at home and abroad. I would be delighted to welcome you to my cozy studio in Gelterkinden BL.

Nail extension
Most women complain about brittle, fragile and splintering fingernails. The most common cause of this problem is a decrease in the water content of the nail. Aggressive cleaning agents and, of course, nutrition have an impact on the growth and condition of fingernails. Targeted nail care can solve nail problems if used on a long-term basis. As modern women attach more and more importance to perfectly manicured nails, gel nails are becoming increasingly popular. A distinction is made here between natural nail enhancement and nail extension. With nail extension (used for extremely short natural nails), the nails are artificially extended using the tip technique (used as a nail tip).

The tip technique is probably the most widespread nail extension technique. The tip, artificial fingernail tip, is made of high-quality plastic and is attached to the tip of the natural nail with the help of glue, only at the front as an extension and is not glued to the entire natural nail as is often claimed.

Since there are prefabricated tips for all shapes of nails, the extension is easy, they are flexible and adapt to the natural nail. The transition from the tip to the natural nail is then filed over with a file so that there is no longer any difference between the natural nail and the artificial tip. The entire nail is modeled with modeling gel and cured in the light curing device with UV light for 2 minutes and filed into the desired shape. If you wish, the white tip can be applied (French). The natural nail continues to grow undisturbed under the tip. Once the nail has reached the desired length, we only continue to work with gel until there is no more tip on it. A nail extension takes approx. 1 ½ to 2 hours, filling takes 1 to 1 ½ hours. To ensure that the nails always look beautiful and well-groomed, because the nail continues to grow, there is a gap at the back, you must have the gel filled approximately every three to five weeks.

If you have any doubts as to whether a strengthening of the natural nails or artificial nail extension is an option for you, the creation of a sample nail is of course part of my service free of charge.
I work exclusively with soft gels from the company Alessandro International, which are absolutely acid-free and harmless for the natural nail.

Nail biting therapy
Do you bite your nails and want to stop? Then I can help you!

• Nail biting is unhealthy because bacteria that collect on your bitten nails are constantly in your mouth.
• In addition, it really doesn't look nice.
• Isn't that enough of an incentive to change that now?

It is very important that you want it yourself and help a little by "trying" not to chew on the material, even if it is difficult. If you do chew on the material, don't worry, it is not harmful.

Nail bite therapy lasts anywhere from approx. 6 weeks to 4 months. Regular check-ups are carried out during this time. If necessary, repairs and new installations are also carried out.

It is very important with this program that you come for regular check-ups. Initially at least once a week, with time the intervals become longer, depending on the progress of the nail.

The modeling is kept very short, as you have been chewing for a long time and are no longer used to different nail lengths. In addition, the artificial nails are more stable if they are kept short at the beginning, as there is hardly any contact surface for the tip or modeling material . Otherwise they could break off more quickly and we don't want that, because otherwise you'll be biting your own nails again.
