La Maison "Ottet machines et appareils" was founded in November 1971 by Michel OTTET, an ETS engineer.

Originally, the company's purpose was to automate industrial machines, and to trade in machines and automatic devices.

Later, it specialized in the manufacture and trade of devices for machining, particularly in watchmaking and precision mechanics.

The Maison "Ottet" is known for the design, manufacture and marketing of clamping systems, and especially "Ottet collets".

The beginnings of OTTET pliers:

In 1978, at the request of a customer and after exchanges between him and Mr. OTTET, a drawing of the pliers was successively adapted to arrive at a completed design in 1979 : production of the pliers was launched!

The "Ottet" pliers were born.

In addition to its positioning accuracy and stability, this collet allows workpieces to be gripped from the inside or outside by simply changing the clamping core. What's more, this pushing system, avoids the variations in height characteristic of external cone pulling collets.
