Open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the week and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and public holidays, we already provide major emergency care.

Equipped with an outpatient center with minor surgery facilities, medical imaging, and qualified Swiss doctors, the medical center offers comprehensive intermediate care services, allowing us to treat all emergencies and monitor patients after certain surgical procedures or who have been diagnosed with rare diseases.

Through its expansion, the Medical Center is growing while focusing on its areas of excellence: adult emergency care, family medicine, ophthalmology, cardiology, and surgery.

 

 

THE EYE CENTER of the Rond-point Plainp alais Medical and Surgical Emergency Service

A team of professionals is available to see you by appointment or in an emergency.

We provide all basic ophthalmological services as well as eye exams, which are covered by your basic health insurance.

Composed of multidisciplinary ophthalmologists, we offer consultations for all ages (children, adults, etc.):

• Visual acuity tests, eye pressure measurements, and in-depth examinations of the conjunctiva, cornea, and fundus can be performed at the center.
• It is important to have regular check-ups at least once a year to screen for conditions such as glaucoma, AMD, or cataracts.
• Annual eye exams and even eye exams for driver's licenses are also available.
• We treat all common emergencies, such as conjunctivitis, foreign bodies, and industrial product splashes in the eye.
• Another special feature of the Rond-point de Plainpalais Medical and Surgical Center is that we can offer you personalized lens fitting. This means you will have lenses that are perfectly suited to your vision and the shape of your eyes.

When more extensive examinations—or even surgery—are necessary, we refer our patients to the HUG, where our ophthalmic surgeons will take care of each case with the necessary care.

 

GYNECOLOGY AND OBSTETRICS is the medical specialty dedicated to women's health issues and the corresponding diagnoses and treatments. Gynecologists treat functional disorders related to the menstrual cycle, contraception, menopause, and genital cancer screening.

The Rond-point Plainpalais Medical and Surgical Center brings together all the expertise in gynecological and urogynecological surgery, senology, imaging detection, and oncology:

Outpatient consultations include:

• obstetric consultations (concerning childbirth),
• gynecological check-ups,
• treatment of problems related to puberty,
• infertility,
• gynecological oncology, and
• senology.

Endoscopic gynecological surgery treats lesions of the vagina and uterus in a minimally invasive manner. Laparoscopic surgery minimizes surgical trauma following procedures on the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and uterus. Urogynecological surgery is used to treat incontinence, a common problem in older women or after one or more childbirths.

Gynecological oncology—which diagnoses and treats tumors—is practiced in collaboration with the facility's multidisciplinary team. Breast cancer treatment has benefited from the development of conservative surgery and now allows tumors to be removed without removing the organ.
