L'Université Ouvrière de Genève (UOG) is an association that aims to develop basic and continuing education, primarily for low-skilled people, and promotes their social, cultural, economic and political integration.

To achieve this goal, the UOG organizes courses, seminars, conferences, symposia, workshops, forums or any other activity supporting integration.

To this end, it collaborates with institutions which, at cantonal, federal and international level, have similar aims and in particular with trade union organizations.

The UOG is a non-profit association.

It is recognized as a public utility, financially supported by the State of Geneva and the City of Geneva, the Geneva Cantonal Foundation for Professional and Continuing Education (FFPC), Geneva municipalities and various other donors. The UOG also works in partnership with the Office Cantonal de l'Emploi, certain communes, joint commissions, local institutions, as well as all the trade union organizations in the canton of Geneva.

The UOG is

• French "foreign language" (FLE) courses adapted to the different needs and situations of learners, given in the morning, afternoon or evening, for all non-French-speaking audiences, for unemployed people and for non-French-speaking staff in employment in various professional branches
.
• "French enterprise" courses targeted according to professional field and aimed at non-French-speaking staff with partner companies and/or institutions
• Professional development courses, at the request of professional associations, institutions or local companies
• "French integration" courses in interested Geneva communes
• Cultural and sports activities, general culture training, and conferences
   

But also:

• A reception service to guide people according to their requests and needs
• Services and a network of active partners  to work on services that help learners on their training path
• A room rental service
• A cafeteria: "Les Quatre Saisons"
• A nearby daycare center: "Zone Bleue"
