Since 1866, the City of Geneva has offered a funeral service that provides dignified funeral arrangements, from registration with the Civil Registry Office to burial or cremation. Its services guarantee the completion of all official formalities and help families to resolve the practical problems posed by a death.

The Funeral, Cemetery and Crematory Service also advises and accompanies bereaved families, while preventing them from incurring ill-considered expenses. In particular, it ensures free funerals under certain conditions and offers care for La Flamme members.

Adequate infrastructure

The management and maintenance of funeral facilities guarantee quality services. In addition to the four municipal cemeteries and the Ange de la Consolation chapel, the department manages two funeral centers.

Permanence

The Funeral, Cemetery and Crematory Service helps families with administrative procedures as well as with the organization of funerals. A 24/7 service is available 365 days a year to ensure rapid care of the deceased. For funeral arrangements, Funeral Service staff receive you by appointment.
