Description
Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired ( ABA ) - Geneva
The ABA is a private, non-profit Geneva association founded in 1901.
It aims to improve the quality of life, integration and autonomy of visually impaired people living in Geneva.
The association advises those affected, their loved ones and raises awareness among the general public.
It is also active through Geneva's medical-social and political network, and works to promote the interests of blind and partially-sighted people.
The ABA is the reference association in the canton of Geneva for matters concerning visually impaired and blind people
.Its many projects carried out by professionals and volunteers help to improve the daily lives of people with blindness or partially-sightedness, and promote their integration and autonomy.
Sight impairment can happen to anyone at any time.
The ABA works daily for the socio-professional integration and fulfillment of those concerned
To achieve its objectives, the ABA has an operating budget covered for less than half by the Federal Social Insurance Office; the rest of its funding depends on private donations.
