In 1946, in the immediate postwar period, the resourcefulness and pioneering spirit of 23-year-old Marco Adami led him to set up a small plumbing and central heating company in Giumaglio.
Marco Adami, with a simple toolbox, began to travel the Vallemaggia, not disdaining a few stops in the Locarno area.
His professional skills are immediately appreciated by customers, and work grows to such an extent that in 1949 the first employee is hired.
The firm grew and in 1967 young son Fabio, decided to undertake an apprenticeship as a plumbing and heating fitter alongside his father Marco.
This desire to follow up on the family business would later be reinforced in 1981, when the company name was changed to Adami Marco & son.
Fabio Adami, however, is forced in 1983 to take over the firm entirely after the unexpected death of his father Marco Adami. Twelve years later, precisely in 1995, Fabio Adami tragically loses his life at the age of 43 as a result of a serious highway accident, and the reins of the family business are then taken over by his wife Daniela and sons Patrick and Roberto, who convert the firm into a corporation.
The Adami family business is now a joint stock company.
Patrick Adami, who had established himself in previous years as a valuable field hockey player by playing in the National A and B leagues, decided in 1998 to end his sports career and became a full-fledged member of the firm, assisted by coach Renato Lampert.
Currently, Adami SA consists of Patrick Adami, his mother Daniela Adami (who handles administrative matters) and 7 employees (5 workers and 2 apprentices).
In addition to being a member of Suissetec (Swiss and Liechtenstein Association of Construction Technology), Adami SA has been involved in the training of apprentices for many years and is constantly keeping up with the times.
