gemma - Trockenmauern & Gärten – Contacts & Location
Description
Gemma is Italian and means both gemstone and bud, so the term fits perfectly with our field of activity.
gemma recommends itself for garden design and the execution of alterations and specializes in the planning, construction and renovation of dry stone walls.
Gardens
Gardens are a sheltered, personal space, an extension of the living room. Similar to rearranging furniture, you can also achieve a different look in the garden with a few simple measures.
And sometimes you have to plow everything up and redesign it from scratch to feel good.
We are happy to take on all the work for you, from planning to execution and maintenance of a garden, or support you in doing so.
Dry stone walls
Dry stone walls have been part of the Swiss landscape for many centuries. As retaining walls on slopes or free-standing walls - they are stable, durable, blend in well with the landscape and offer many ecological niches for plants and animals.
But dry stone walls also look good in private gardens. Depending on the type of stone chosen, different wall designs are created that fit into both a modern and a natural garden.
Whether you want us to renovate an existing wall or build a new one - we look forward to hearing from you!
Stone harvesting
Stone harvesting means nothing more than obtaining the stones you need to build a wall on site or in the immediate vicinity. In the best case scenario, this saves on material and transportation costs, and the wall blends in even better with its surroundings.
Methods include collecting in natural slopes (scree slopes) or pastureland (harvesting stones), sieving excavated material (e.g. for terracing) or splitting and dividing boulders.
