As a leading company in the timber industry and timber construction, Blumer Lehmann utilizes the potential of wood in all its diversity and drives wood technology forward internationally. Around 500 employees work at the headquarters in Gossau SG, at locations in Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Luxembourg and around the world on a wide variety of customer projects.

Completely in the wood cycle

Since 1875, the fascination for wood has determined the company's thoughts and actions. Blumer Lehmann processes the natural raw material wood in a sustainable, complete value-added cycle to create innovative products, services and buildings. In the sawing, planing and finger-jointing plant, around 170,000 cubic meters of Swiss logs are turned into a comprehensive range of sawn timber for the construction industry. The residual wood is processed into bark bedding and CO2-neutral pellets and used as energy in the company's own power plant to generate electricity and heat.

In timber construction, Blumer Lehmann develops, plans, produces and realizes new buildings - including free-form projects in collaboration with internationally renowned architectural firms - as well as conversions with extensions and renovations. The company also plans and manufactures modular timber constructions for schools, commercial and residential buildings, which allow maximum flexibility even in limited spaces. Another specialty of Blumer Lehmann is silos and systems for road and winter road maintenance, automated and equipped with modern conveyor technology.

Since January 2023, Vorarlberg-based oa.sys baut GmbH has also been part of the Blumer Lehmann group of companies. The timber construction company complements the portfolio with services relating to large-volume residential and commercial construction in Austria and Germany.
